Iceland Aurora Borealis
'Third time lucky' the saying goes. And so it proved on my third visit to Iceland in 14 months. I always find this an amazing place whatever the weather and despite previous disappointments. But this time, the third time (and my first visit to the north of the island), I got to see the Aurora Borealis in its full glory!
This was one of the first shots and, whilst perhaps not as dramatic as some taken the following night, it has that special 'first time' feel about it.
The 'still-fairly-new' D750, this time paired with a brand new Nikon 20mm f1.8 lens, bought especially for the occasion. Thanks to Becky at Grays of Westminster for somehow securing one of these lenses in time for me, despite - at the time - being as rare as hen's teeth.
